Jürgen Gloyer & Co. was founded in 1970 as a limited partnership in Ellerau/Germany. The Gloyer family, well-known soap manufactureres, had been producing in Hamburg up to that time. At the new factory Jürgen Gloyer & Co. KG manufactured exclusively crystal oil soap, gold soap and liquid green soap for the wholesale trade. After the death of Jürgen Gloyer in 1986 the company was purchased in June 1987 by Günter Hellwig, who is still the owner today. Since then the company has been carried on as a one-man business called Jürgen Gloyer & Co.
